Lobster Fishing

Lobstering has been a very important part of life in Nova Scotia, as well as in Clark's Harbour and surrounding areas. The first settlers used the abundance of lobsters to make a living, and people within the community still do.

The lobstering season starts the end of November and continues to the end of May. Within this time, many men and women make their years worth on income. These months are very busy, with extremely long hours put in on the cold water. At this time the local wharves are congested with hundreds of lobstering boats loading and unloading traps.
